Anyone/Aerith from Final Fantasy VII. I absolutely loathed her as a kid playing that game, and it took me a few years to realize it was because she "got in the way" of Cloud/Tifa. But upon replaying the game I may not ship Cloud/Aerith, but I definitely ship Zack/Aerith. I think that Zack had a lot of strong feelings for her that were transferred to Cloud when he was all messed up in the head.
