Discussion 43

Welcome to another discussion round! It is a pretty straightforward game where I give you a question that you'll answer in a new comment for two random cards. Since this is a discussion, don't be shy! Feel free to comment on other player's threads too~

It's a new year, so I'm sure this week's discussion will come as no surprise...

"Are you the kind who makes new year resolutions? How good are you at following through with them? Feel free to share some of your resolutions for this year if you have them!"
(Example: I set resolutions for myself almost every year, but I am always completely awful at getting anything done, sob. If I ever manage to fulfill one or two it's usually only accidentally, or because *something else* pushed me to do that. Otherwise... lol nope. :'| insert you-tried star here.)

Have fun everybody! You've got until January 26th, 2014 to comment!

Stareyes mentioned writing goals, so I am reminded that those count. But yes! That's the only type of goal I set for myself, and I don't really count it as a New Year's Resolution so much as part of my continued goal to practice and improve my writing and eventually finish something original that I feel comfortable putting out there in public.

As far as what I consider more traditional types of New Year's Resolutions, I… don't do them because not only do I not meet them, they discourage me because I inevitably can't live up to them. I tend to set very high goals for myself because setting lower goals feels like admitting to failure, but setting high goals means I will fail anyway, so… Yeah. It's easier to just not set them and work on goals more slowly without that punch of I Am Going To Do This This Year behind them.

I'll also add a pairings goal I have, though: I want to find images for some of the decks that have been pending mastery on my collecting page for ages so that I can actually master them. I've been meaning to do this for ages and keep slacking off on it. Sob.

Yeah, I feel the same. :|a I start really HIGH goals and they don't work and low goals are things I set myself any time of the year. I think having a continual goal that isn't based on a random date is a good idea.

Also, good luck on the pending stuff...sob... I know the feel...
