Both spend most of their time sealed into a smaller, cute form that can be mistaken for something innocuous (a plush toy or pet cat), but who have much more imposing true forms. Both are also the main character's teacher and go by nicknames (Kero-chan is really Keroberos and Nyanko-sensei is really Madara).
