Hello Pairings players! I hope you enjoyed the Christmas event! Since it's now over, regular games will start posting today. Not all at once mind you, they will follow the same schedule they had before, so they may seem slow at first.

This year we are retiring the monthly game Cupid. It had a great run but we think it may be time to refresh some things a bit. We still don't have a set game for that monthly slot but we're working on coming up with something, to make up for this you make take the first four random cards that appear on the randomizer.

Besides that I'd also like to consult you guys on new options we're trying to include for the Benefits. There won't be a new category and players will still only have 3 benefit slots, but 1 new option will be added for each category and you may apply for these benefits. We still haven't set up tasks for them, but we have a rough idea of what we want them to be. If you agree with this, they will be worked out to debut next month or so. The list is as follows:

Since at Pairings TCG we are not certain of all the pairs you want to collect, we give the players the option to donate image packs that will be turned into single decks for the monthly release. If you have images of your favorite characters and would like them featured in a deck, feel free to donate those images in this post! Please remember to check the Upcoming list before donating in case the deck has already been donated.

THE MASCOT RULE HAS BECOME VOID! Read about it here

Besides that we are making this post a space for our player base to give us feedback on how things have been running lately or what kind of things you'd like to see in the future in Pairings. You can also inquire as to what has been decided/done/discussed about whatever suggestion you may have made to us in the past, publicly or privately. There are many things we would like to work on, but we also want to keep our players happy and through your suggestions and feedback, we will decide what is priority.

We really hope all of you will participate in this discussion so Pairings can continue to grow as a community and a fun place for all players. We are open to all kind of suggestions and feedback, positive or negative and we will appreciate your honesty.

We would really like if more players gave us feedback on how the TCG is running now. Is there anything you'd like to be changed, improved or reworked? We're taking all concerns, suggestions and feedback you would like to give us!

This post will be sticky for a few days instead of the release! Once we close it, the release will go back to sticky. You can find the release by using the !release tag.

A little post to let everyone now that the mini-mastery post will be closing tomorrow in the evening so if you haven't turned in your mini-mastery yet, you should! Besides that keep an eye on the summer event closing date! There's only 1 day left for any event tasks to be done and 3 more for your comment to be posted! If you finished some, make sure you post your tasks even if didn't manage to complete them all! You will still get rewards for the ones you completed and a nifty event card.

Some of you may have noticed I skipped some comment when handing out prizes yesterday. That's because I didn't know if players would keep editing comments to add more stuff. I'll be handing out rewards to all comments once the post closes, so don't worry if you haven't gotten any yet!

Thanks to all the players who have participated in the event! We've been very happy with all the activity going on in the game and we hope it will be this lively for a long time.

Well guys, it's the 31st so Prejoin officially ends today! This means ALL GAMES from the prejoin period are closed and all the comments posted after this entry won't be taken into account.
Thanks everyone who joined us during this period, I hope we can make it fun for you after the grand opening as well~
We reached both goals in the end, so that also deserves a thanks to all the players who helped us out with promoting and donations.

The Grand Opening event starts tomorrow. I hope you're as excited as I am! The regular games also start tomorrow, so please participate in those to get the game rolling! All the services open tomorrow! If you want to turn in anything, you can start on that as soon as the comments are enabled on all the services entries.
Deck Donations open again on April 5th and the release will be on April 7th, so keep an eye out for all these things.

I have updated the gamelist on the site if you want to take a look, though since none of the rounds have been posted, I'll add the actual links by next weekend. Sorry about the inconvenience. I also updated the Benefits entry, please read it carefully! That you understand the rules and guidelines is very important so there are no problems for you regarding this service in the future.

I have also read the answers to the survey posted on the previous update and I took all of your answers into account for my decision:

1. Most players seem to not worry too much about official art being spoilery and some even explained that it could be one of the few available images it could be used for a pairing so these will be treated on individual cases. For now, I will only put a small note on the masteries post so that players have some conscience about how spoilery the image can be and I also encourage players to consult either me or Joyce if they're not sure about how much of a spoiler it can be because I don't mind allowing it, but I would prefer to avoid trouble in the future if new players join and they complain that the master bagdes for other players contain spoilers.

2. After a lot of thinking, I have decided to use only two symbols for deck collecting and deck mastering: so we'll stick to slash (/) for romantic pairings and dash (-) for non-romantic and same deck collecting unless the player states they want to collect as romantic. The reason for this is because some players made me realize using more than two symbols could be confusing and then I would have to make a legend of symbols so everyone knew what to use in what case... honestly, that seemed overly complicated. The reason why I picked dash over the ampersand (&) is because the majority of commenters seemed to gravitate more towards that option. I will also make a note on this on the masteries post for when people decide on their next collecting deck and on the sign up post for when people pick their starting deck.
I would appreciate if those who would like to make changes about their collecting deck symbol on the members page let me know now! If you would make evident that the deck you're collecting is non-romantic, please tell me and I will change the symbol accordingly!

Hello again guys, only 6 more days to go until the grand opening!
I'll be updating the benefits section later today so please keep an eye out for that and when it's up, read the rules and ask your questions over there if you have any!
The game-posting schedule has also been planned so I'll be updating the gamelist at the site during this week, so those interested in knowing what kind of games we'll have can check that out by Wednesday or Thursday.

My update today is, besides those announcements, to run a survey that is related to the masteries services. It's important for me to tackle any possible grey zone that could cause a problem in the game later so I want to see if with your opinions I can figure something out by majority!

A player asked me when the game was just starting if we were going to allow both fanart and official art for masteries, which we do so no problem there. Then she inquired about the posibility that the official art used contains spoilers (i.e. canon pairings kissing, getting married, etc.) This in itself might not be a problem if the master badge has fanart with these things, because fanart doesn't have to mean anything, but official art is different and if it's for a canon pairing that people don't know they get together until the end of the series, maybe this could ruin the series for them? So I would like to know: would you prefer if master badges with official art are entirely spoiler free or you don't care too much about those spoilers? Please give me your input! This will affect all the players in the game, so I would like to see as many opinions as possible.

My other questions is related both to masteries and collecting. As of today, I have added all the collecting decks in the members list using a slash (/) to separate the single decks of the pairs the players are collecting. However, generally, the slash is used to represent romantic pairings in fandom and it came to my attention that it might be a little constricting in regards to collecting because I do say in the rules that you can collect all type of pairs (brothers or best friends and it doesn't have to be only pairs you like romantically, if that makes sense) and the slash in the middle might cause a misunderstanding among other players and I would really hate that. Same with collecting the same deck as double: I personally don't like selfcest, yet I am collecting a double deck of the same character because I have fanart with a dual persona that I can use for the master badge. For these reasons I thought I could use an ampersand (&) to separate non-romantic pairings people want to collect and a hypen (-) to separate same deck double collecting unless you state you want to collect it as a romantic pairing. These changes would be applied both on the members list and the master badges if the majority of people agree and every time you change collecting deck you would have to state (with these symbols) whether you want to collect a pairing as a romantic pairing or not.
I would really like your input on this! If it's approved, it's a change that will affect all players, so I want to see what everyone thinks on this.

After replying to this survey, you can take two cards from the randomizer. They can be any type! Just please state which cards you got and don't forget to log them!

Leave a comment in this entry if you'd like to inform us of any errors you find around the site or the community. This includes typos, broken links and card errors, among others.
As of now, you get 1 random card for every reported error. This might change in the future, but really, please report errors to make the community and site better, not just for the reward.

Please be patient, the mod in charge will try to reply and fix the error as soon as possible. Remember to read the comments before commenting to see if the error has been already reported.

EXTRA RULES
+ Members rejoining the TCG a second time (that is, after rejoining once and quitting/going into inactivity again) won't be able to get a new member card. They must choose one of their two previous member card as the new one.
+ If a player hasn't uploaded their starter pack on their card post after 3 weeks, they will be deleted from the members' list.
